Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. dotie's core capture, sticker generation, save, browsing, sharing, and widget flows work without an account.

Where is my data stored?

Core records are stored locally on your device using Apple app storage technologies. Widget display data is exported to the app group container for widget rendering.

How do I delete a saved record?

Delete the record from its in-app detail flow. dotie removes the saved record and the app-managed image data associated with that record.

Does dotie sync across devices?

The current version stores core records locally on your device. Deleting the app, switching devices, or restoring without an iOS backup may remove local dotie data.

Can I use dotie without location permission?

Yes. Location is only used while the app is in use to attach optional capture or import location metadata and to show saved stickers on the map when coordinates are available.

Are AI suggestions required?

No. Optional AI suggestions can help draft titles, notes, labels, visual summaries, or report feedback when enabled, but they are not required for saving or journaling.

Privacy summary

dotie does not require an account. Core records are stored locally on your device. dotie does not sell your personal information, does not show third-party ads, and does not track users across other companies' apps or websites.

Optional AI features may send selected image, generated collage, record context, location description, and prompt data to the configured AI provider only when those features are enabled. AI is not required for saving records or using the core app.

Optional anonymous usage analytics are disabled by default in non-Debug builds and run only after you enable the setting. Dotie Pro subscriptions, when available, are processed by Apple through the App Store.
