Information You Add To The App
You may choose to add photos, sticker card images and generated thumbnails, titles, categories, labels, notes, status, usage history, journey photos, repurchase records, related dates, optional capture or import location metadata, and profile preferences such as avatar image, nickname, language preference, AI provider preference, and widget settings.
This information is used to provide the app's life-log, sticker-card, journaling, sharing, collection organization, map, dashboard, and widget features.
Local Storage
dotie stores core records locally on your device using Apple's local app storage technologies, including SwiftData and files in the app container. Widget display data is exported by the app into its App Group container so the dotie widget can render saved stickers without reading the app database directly.
If you delete a saved record in the app, dotie removes the app's stored record and associated app-managed image data for that record. If you delete the app, iOS removes the app's local container data. Device backups are controlled by your iOS and Apple account backup settings.
Camera, Photos, And Location Permissions
dotie requests camera access so you can capture photos for your records.
dotie requests photo library access so you can import photos. dotie may request add-only photo library permission when you save sticker images to your photo library.
dotie requests location while in use only to attach optional capture/import location metadata to a sticker card and to show saved stickers on the map when coordinates are available. You can deny location permission and still use the core app.
Optional AI Features
dotie includes optional AI assistance for capture suggestions, post-save record enrichment, and sticker report feedback. These features are not required to save records or use the core app.
When enabled, dotie may send the selected or source image, generated collage image, record metadata, category names, capture date, created date, location description, existing notes, internal visual-observation summaries, and prompt text to the configured AI provider. The current provider options in the app are Google Gemini through Firebase and Zhipu GLM through the configured dotie proxy at api.tietie.site.
AI responses may include suggested record titles, card notes, categories, labels, visual-observation summaries, or report feedback. You can ignore these suggestions. If an AI request fails, times out, or is unavailable, the local app flow continues.
AI provider processing, logging, and retention are governed by the provider or proxy handling the request. Do not enable AI features for photos or metadata you do not want sent to an online service.
Optional Anonymous Usage Analytics
dotie includes optional anonymous product analytics to understand which features are useful, where beta users get stuck, and which flows need reliability improvements.
Analytics collection is disabled by default in non-Debug builds. If you enable anonymous usage analytics in Settings, dotie may record product interaction events such as module opens, Quick Add steps, widget opens, save success or failure, share actions, and visible error categories.
dotie does not include photos, sticker images, card text, journal text, record titles, category names, label names, search text, precise location coordinates, or advertising identifiers in analytics events.
Third-Party Services
The current app integrates Firebase Core, Firebase App Check, and Firebase AI Logic for optional AI provider support. The current app also integrates Firebase AnalyticsCore for optional anonymous usage analytics, with analytics collection disabled until you enable the anonymous analytics setting. The current app does not integrate Firebase Crashlytics.
dotie also uses the Vortex package for visual effects. Vortex is a local UI package and is not used to collect user data.
